ECSQ Play Dessner & Beethoven
Happy new year everyone! We hope all had restful holidays, and that your 2025 is off to an excellent start. We wanted to quickly thank everyone who made it out to our Quartet by Candlelight concerts this past December - we had excellent turn outs in every city, and together we were able to donate a total of $1,722.50 to charities across the province, including the United Way in Fredericton, Saint John, Moncton, and the Foodbank in Florenceville-Bristol. Wow! Thank you for sharing the season with us, and for helping us give back to the community.
Concert 3: Dessner & Beethoven
We’re pleased to share that tickets are now on sale for our next series of shows: ECSQ Play Dessner & Beethoven! This has been a very fun program to prepare - while you may not have heard of Bryce Dessner, he’s well known as the guitarist for the rock band the National. You’ve also likely heard his music in hit movies like The Two Popes, C’Mon C’Mon, We Live in Time, Sing Sing, and the Revenant. The Dessner is a brand new work (the sheet music only became available this past September). As far as we can tell by scouring Google - this may be the Canadian premiere of the work - very cool!
