ECSQ Play Washington, Janáček & Schumann
Hello everyone!
Hope you are all having a cozy (if rainy) start to your week. Spring is in the air! Most of the snow has melted from our lawn, and I saw some crocuses blooming in our neighbours yard this morning (wild!). Our next tour is coming up in a couple weeks, with the first show taking place in Saint John March 28th. By then it will be officially spring, though we’re going to wait to take our winter tires off until after the tour (we all know how weather in the Maritimes can be!).
Concert 4: Washington, Janáček & Schumann
We’re pleased to share that tickets are now on sale for our next run of shows: ECSQ Play Washington, Janáček & Schumann! This is an eclectic program that’s been fun to put together - the Janáček has been a puzzle we’ve been piecing together each rehearsal, the Washington is a folk/fiddle + rock mashup in the best way, and the Schumann is a beautiful lyrical quartet. The repertoire spans roughly 170 years, and will have a little something for everyone.
We’ll be in touch next week with more information on the repertoire, and a little about why we love them!
We’re adding a slightly new-to-us stop on this run of shows - St. Andrews! While we’ve performed in St. Andrews in the past, it’s always been part of Winter Warmer Festival (thank you Jamie, we love Winter Warmer!). This will be our first time presenting our series independently - if you have family or friends in St. Andrews who you think would enjoy a quartet concert, please forward this email along! The show will take place at Wesley United Church on April 12th at 7:30PM.
Here are some beautiful shots from McKenzie Power during our Fredericton concert this past February.
See you all soon!
